As of 15 August, all the general journals have been thrown out [they are still held in other Cambridge libraries], and the movers have taken everything from the Plant Scis Library that is being moved to the new library in the Sainsbury Building. The major disruption is therefore over, but we are still moving the journals to form one alphabetical sequence, and will then move the books to occupy the empty shelves in Bays 4 and 5. Consequently there will be some noise – and perhaps even a mild expletive or two – in the PS Library, as heavy bound journals are dropped on toes, etc.
Unfortunately the new library is still in a state of chaos. If you need an item from the Simpson Collection, a flora, a monograph, or a taxonomic work, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org so that it can be retrieved for you.
