Welcome to the website for the Plant Sciences Library at the University of Cambridge.
** Please see our news page for information regarding disruption to service during summer 2011 – STARTING 27 JUNE **
Although many plant scientists now access most of the information they need online, the Plant Sciences Library retains a large amount of older material that is still in frequent use – and could be used more if researchers were aware of what we hold!
All our books and journals appear on the University of Cambridge library catalogue, but we also hold archive material and reprints that are not represented on a publicly-available catalogue. See What’s in the Library for a rough guide.
Visitors are welcome, but are strongly advised to contact us first, both to check our holdings and the accessibility of the items they need, and for help with finding these items. Please note that there are separate library facilities in both the Herbarium and in the Cory Library at the University Botanic Gardens, and an appointment must be made to visit either of these. In addition, a large part of the stock of the main library will be moving in the near future to a new facility in the Botanic Gardens. This will cause major disruption to access to floras and monographs – information, when available, will be posted on the blog on this website. At the moment all our collections are reasonably accessible. See the Information for visitors for more details.
